Media Gateway 4.2.1

Delivery infrastructure for teams that ship video every day.

Meridian Media operates the routing, caching, and monitoring layer that sits between your catalog and your audience. We keep playback smooth when traffic spikes and when a region goes dark.

What we run

Four building blocks, operated by one team, on one support rota.

Adaptive delivery

Segment-aware routing chooses a path per session rather than per region. Playback renegotiates within a single buffer window, so viewers rarely notice a carrier problem upstream.

Edge caching

Popular titles are held close to the audience and revalidated against your origin on a schedule you control. Cold catalogs stay cold; hits stay hot.

Origin shielding

A small pool of shield nodes absorbs retries, range requests, and thundering herds, keeping steady-state load on your storage predictable.

Observability

Per-session traces, rebuffer accounting, and alerting that pages a human only when a real audience is affected — not when a single probe fails.

Built for predictable operations

Meridian runs on ordinary, well-understood infrastructure: standard HTTP, commodity storage, and a control plane that is boring on purpose. Capacity is provisioned ahead of known events, and change windows are announced before they happen.

  • Capacity planning shared with your team each quarter
  • Documented runbooks and named on-call contacts
  • Rollback tested before every platform release
  • Post-incident reviews published to customers

About Meridian

Meridian Media is an independent media-delivery company founded in 2016. We are a small engineering organisation — twenty-eight people, most of them on the platform team — and we take on a limited number of customers so that every one of them gets direct access to the people who operate the network.

Our customers are broadcasters, production studios, and subscription streaming services. Some run a handful of live channels; some publish tens of thousands of hours of catalog. All of them care about the same two things: playback that starts quickly, and someone who answers the phone at three in the morning.
